HAMILTON RAM FAIR
FLOCK ROMNEYS OFFERED SATISFACTORY CLEARANCE Although, as at other fixtures this season, there has been a limited enquiry for the poorer classes of sheep, a satisfactory clearance of flock Romneys was made at the Hamilton Ram Fair to-day. The bidding on the best of the southern sheep was keen, 8$ gns. being the top price up to the early afternoon. For the tops of the Waikato offering from 5 gns to 6 gns. were gained, while the majority of one-shear rams of good quality brought about i gns. In a number of pens the standard of the entries was below buyers’ requirements and these had to lie passed out. Mr I*. G. Forlong, of Bunnethorpe. received 6A gns. to 8 irns. for a particularly nice line while another of the most successful vendors was Mr J. W. i Body, of Palmerston North, whose rams made from 7J ens to 8i gns. | The auctioneers were Messrs Palget y and Company, the Fanners’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company and I the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company
