TO PREVENT DISEASE
PERIODICAL EXAMINATION DR. TWEED’S ADVOCACY {By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday Dr. Tweed, formerly medical adviser to the Plunket Society, returned on the Awatea to-day from eight months’ abroad. He stressed the importance of the prevention rather than the cure of disease, and said the only way to prevent it is by periodical examination of all people. He found there was great interest, in the work of the late Sir Trubv King and also found out how right he had been. What Sir Trubv had said had been absolutely sound. Dr. Tweed did not agree with the way people to-day rushed off to try new 'diets and fads. He said if the national health insurance scheme meant the maintenance of health it would be a great step forward.
