HINDU’S CHIEF PASTIME BORSTAL TERM FOR THEFT (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday. Described as having been “a bit of a problem” since coming - to New Zealand three years ago, Gosai Dullabh (20;, a Hindu labourer, appeared before Mr J. 11. Luxford, S.M., to-day on four charges of theft of sums ranging from 5s 5d to £1 16s Gd. “He is regarded very unfavourably by his fellow-countrymen and his chief pastime seems to have been writing indecent letters and sending them through the post to other Indians,” said Detective-Sergeant Doyle. The magistrate sent accused to Borstal for two years.
