FAIR DEMAND
SOUTHDOWN RAM FAIR FIXTURE AT CLAUDELANDS A thousand flock Southdown rams were on offer at the Claudelands sale pavilion to-day for the first day of the Hamilton ram fair, which will be continued during the week. The demand was erratic but good sorts met with fair competition and prices were from £6 6s to £lO 10s for best quality lines. The top price of £lO 10s was obtained for rams from Mr C. J. Hawken, of Mokoia, who sold his consignment at prices ranging from £7 7s to £lO 10s.
The fair is being conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, and the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited.
