Hamilton. who had failed to strike form earlier in the season, set Old Boys a hard task when they compiled 284 in their first, innings and with Old Boys’ opening partnership broken for 70 runs, Hamilton were in a reasonably sound position. Claudelands were also well situated in their game with Hamilton East. In their initial innings Claudelands were out for 194 while East have lost one for 17. When the games were resumed the weather was dull but the wickets were in good order.
