M. Anton Dolin, of London, a member of the Russian Ballet, is staying at the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr Wallace Nelson, of Otorohanga, chairman of the New Zealand Honey Control Board, was in Hamilton yesterday.

The Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Labour, passed through Hamilton yesterday on his way from Rotorua to Auckland.

Mr. Claude Kingston and Mr J. Donoghue, of the Williamson managerial staff, are in Hamilton with the Russian Ballet.

Mr F. D. Young, a member of the Auckland staff of the Commercial Bank of Australia, has received notice of his appointment as manager of the Hastings branch of the bank.

Mr J. Reid, Wellington, is visiting Hamilton to witness the match between the Waikato cricket team and Sir Julien Cahn’s eleven. Mr Reid, who left Hamilton nine years ago, was formerly president of the Waikato Cricket Association.

Dr. Julius Stone, who has been appointed to the chair of law at Auckland University College, is expected to arrive at Auckland by the Rangitata from London on March 9. Professor Stone will take up his duties on March 13.

Mr W. J. Fix, of Canterbury, will replace Mr G. F. Page, until recently Government apiary instructor in Hamilton, according to a statement made yesterday by Mr E. Earp, senior apiary instructor, Wellington. Mr Page is off duty owing to ill-health. The pending retirement of Mr W. W. Samson. Registrar of the Supreme Court and sheriff at Wellington, and Registrar of the Court of Appeal, has been announced. Mr Samson will relinquish his duties about the end of June. Mr G. A. Stewart, accountant- at the Hamilton branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the hank’s Paeroa branch. Mr J. M. Macaulay, manager at Paeroa, has been transferred to Greymouth and Mr E. P. Kelleher, accountant at Gisborne, replaces Mr Stewart at Hamilton. Messrs D. K. Gray, W. H. Jenkins, G. Campbell, D. C. E. Blane (Wellington;. S. J. Reid. n. A. Wishart (Hastings', T. D. Bennett Dargaville), A. W. T. Hyde (Kati Kati). W. Alexander. A. L. McLean. A. Y. Montgomery, G. F. Jacobs. F. A. Christie and K. E. Eames Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr \V. S. Wauchop, a member of Ihe New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, a well-known artist and one of the two producers for the Wellington Repertory Society, has been appointed a member of the management committee of the National Art Gallery to succeed Mr W. 11. Cummer. Auckland. Mr J. Roberts, if 1 Ihristchurch. secretary of the Clothing Trades Federation of Workers, and Mr W. J. Mountjoy. secretary ».f the Wellington Employers* Association, have been nominated representatives to the *_>Nlh session of the International Labour Conference, which opens at Geneva on June 8. If the nominees are approved by the Government, they will go gates, whose names have not vet been announced.
