ARMY TRUCK CRASHES

ARTILLERYMAN IN HOSPITAL COMPANION SLIGHTLY* INJURED (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) TAIHAPE, Thursday The second accident in three months in which an artillery truck was involved occurred six miles from Taihape last evening.

Returning to the Waiouru camp when a leak developed in a rear tyre, the driver decided to turn hack for repairs when the truck left the road, crashing 30ft. down a bank.

The driver, Sergeant H. Gillespie, of Duncan Street, Wanganui East, received concussion and was admitted to the Taihape Hospital, and a companion, Private W. T. Collerton, of Taihape, suffered slight injuries to the back and was able to return homo. There were no other passengers. The truck was badly damaged.
