Dick Redmond held on in the straight to win by half-a-length rrom Air Pilot, who beat Gay Moko by a neck. Aurumar wa* fourth and then followed Frontier Boy, Audrey’s Last, All Bingen and Llanvabon. Broughton's team which recently was transferred to Te Rapa sprang a surprise when, after bitting rh« front three furlongs rrom home, he went on to win convincingly and return a handsome double figure price on the win machine. Winhlsway. who was also at long odds, made a solid showing, while the favourite, Lady Keller, and the well supporufi Kewpie’s ©ingen, after having everv chance, could make no impression over the deciding stage. Great Gem and Honey Pot were tangled and were in a hopeless position within a furlong. Neon Ora showing out rrom Auto Bingen, Winhlsway, Sweet Aloes and Gipsy Light. As they straightened up for ttoia run past the stands, Neon Ora broke badly and Winhlsway was in charge with a round to go from Lady Keller, Rey Ola. Auto Bingen and Gipsy Light. Racing along the back there was no alteration in the position of the leaders. Rey Ola, moving up to take charge across the top and leading into the striglit rrom Winhlsway and Lady Keller. Rey Ola won very attractively at the end by two and a-hair lengths rrom Wlnhisway with one and a-hair lengths to Auto Bingpn.
