LARDER AFTERNOON
MRS S. LORIMER ENTERTAINB Miss Mavis Griffiths, whose marriage takes place on Saturday, was guest-of-honour at a larder afternoon given by Mrs S. Lorimer recently at her home in Nixon Street. Pianoforte solos by Miss Joan Growther and competitions passed a very pleasant afternoon. Following the serving of a delicious afternoon tea, Miss Griffiths opened the many gifts and returned thanks to all present. To receive her guests Mrs Lorimer was wearing a heavy navy blue sheer frock relieved with white, and the bride-elect wore a black and white ensemble with toning hat. Those present included: —Mesdames J. M. Griffiths, C. Masters, P. Hunter, K. Johns. E. Tisch, G. Burgess, H. Reid, B. Perham. Misses Dulcie Griffiths, Gwyneth Powell, Shirley Griffiths, Loma Perham, Joan Growther, Dorothy Hunter, Hilda Clough, Iris Nixon, Sadie Eastwood, Norma Johns.
