FAREWELL EVENING
FOR MISS CORA TAYLOR There was a large attendance in the Springdale Hall recently, the occasion being a farewell party to Miss Cora Taylor, who is leaving the district. The evening look the form of a social and dance, music for dancing being supplied by Messrs W. Crowe, L. Phillips and L. Mathis. Items were given by Mr B. Mortimer and Mr L. Phillips. During the supper interval Mr J. Nicholson, on behalf of the local basketball and tennis clubs, expressed regret at Miss Taylor's departure and thanked her for the services she had so willingly given. She was presented with a writing set and serviette rings from her fellow members. The guest-of-honour was also presented with a chromium clock by Lornie Keightley, on behalf of her schoolmates, and little Helen Coombs presented her with a beautiful bouquet and wished her every happiness in her new sphere. Miss Taylor returned thanks for the gifts and thanked those responsible for the pleasant evening.
