PIRONGIA FUNCTION
PRE-WEDDING PARTY There was a large attendance at the Pirongia Memorial Hall recently when relatives and friends of Miss Sybil Kesby and Mr F. Beet assembled to wish them happiness in their approaching marriage. Numerous presentations were made during the evening which was mainly spent in dancing. Mr E. Bell, on behalf of the residents of tlie district, presented Miss Kesby and Mr F. Beet with a handsome sideboard, a set of chromium ash trays and an ornamental jug. Grateful reference was made to the fact that Mr Beet had always offered his services as pianist in the district very willingly, and had rendered much service to further any sport. Mr J. McGruther then made a presentation to the young couple on behalf of the Ngutunui residents of a crystal water set and a chromium smoker's stand. Mr Beet made suitable response, and the evening concluded with the singing of “Ailld Lang Syne.” Miss Kesby was wearing a gown of blue souple satin.
