PUKEMIRO NOTES

CALEDONIAN SOCIAL The Pukemiro branch of the Caledonian Society held an enjoyable social in the Masonic Hall. Songs were given by Mrs Liddle and Mrs Healey and the music was supplied by the Pukemiro Revellers’ Band. A novelty waltz was won by Miss 0. Mclntyre and Mr R. Bell. Mr R. Grey was M.C. Among those present were:—Mesdames Blyth, Drinnin, Liddle, A. Johnston Junr.), R. Grey, Healey, Donaldson, Allardyce, Dryburgh, W. F. Brown. Misses 0. Mclntyre (Auckland), A. Weinsleich (Thames), J. Wilcox, B. Seddon, P. Blyth, N. Satterthwaite, D. Hoope* WHIST DRIVE The Pukemiro school committee held a whist drive in the Miners’ Hall recently, proceeds being in. aid of the school funds. The winners were Mrs Peden and Mrs Cole, equal first and Mr Sunich first.
