PRE-WEDDING FUNCTIONS
PARTIES FOR BRIDES-TO-BE The Te Puninga Hall was the scene of a happy gathering recently, when residents and friends tendered a gift evening to Miss Ivy Conning, who is to be married shortly. The evening took the form of a social and dance, music for dancing being supplied by Mr S. Schofield. After supper the guest-of-honour was asked to accept the many gift parcels as tokens of esteem. Mr W. White suitably responded and they were accorded musical honours. EVENING AT IYIANAWARU About 50 residents and friends assembled at the home of Mrs Sykes, Manawaru. recently to honour her daughter. Miss Mavis Sykes, who is shortly to bo married. A happy evening was spent. with games, competitions and singing. Mr Tim Cronin entertaining with humorous items. Mr V Bainsfow presented to the guest -of-honour the many gift parcels. Mr Alan Cameron, of Waitoa, responded. after which musical honours were accorded the guests-of-honour.
