Belgium, at Brussels.— Mohammed Ghaus beat Maeyaert, 57, 2 —6, 6 —3, 6—l, 9 —7. Rain prevented the second singles from being played. France v. Italy, at Paris.—Petra beat Taroni, 6—o, 6—2, 6—3; Destremeau beat Canapele, 3—6, 60, 6 —3, 7—5. MIDDLESEX CHAMPIONSHIP CHOY DEFEATS FILBY United Press Assn.—Klee-. Tel. Oopvrlarm LONDON, May 28 The Middlesex tennis championships were concluded to-day, the results being as follows: — Ladles’ Doubles.—Semi-finals: Mrs Fabyan and Miss Marble defeated Mrs Hop'man and Miss Stevenson, 6—3, 63; Misses Heinmiller and Morphew defeated Misses Dearman and Ingram, o—6, 6—3, B—6. The honours in the Anal were divided owing to rain. Ladies' Singles.—Final: Mdle. Jedrzejowska defeated Miss Bundy, 7 6—2. Men's Singles.—Final: Choy defeated Fllby, 6 —2, 6—4. ENGLISH WOMEN’S TEAM ' ''' ' ASSn LONDON, May 28 The English women's lawn tennis team to play the Australians on June 3 and 4, and America, for the Wightman Cup on June 10 and 11, is as follows:—Mrs King (captain), Misse's Dearman, Ingram, James, Lumb, Scriven and Stammers.
