Tel. o.pvr'a-ht) BRISBANE, May 27 At the Stadium on Saturday night Young Gildo, 9st, gained a points decision over Joe Hall, 9st, in a bout of 15 rounds. The Filipino forced the fighting from the opening round and had the clever Australian on the back move throughout the contest. Claude Nichol and Ron Richards were introduced as the principals of the contest to be held next Saturday night. McKAY DEFEATS KELLY <B> 1 eiegrapn - P'"-* \-s.jriafinn) GISBORNE, Sunday Making his professional dehut, Brian McKay, of Hastings, outpointed Percy Kelly, of Auckland, in a ten-round contest last night. Kelly’s punching capacity was expected to prove decisive and half-way through the tight seemed a likely winner, but his opponent started to rally in 11 j e seventh round and kept it going over the rest of the distance. He overcame his early deficit and satisfied the referee, to whom the decision was left by the judges, the latter being divided in opinion. McKay gave a rlexer exhibition and unbalanced Kelly by going in close in the late rounds, the Aucklander lading unable to register hits with his damaging right.
