VISIT TO FRANCE PRECAUTIONS FOR BAFETY GREAT PREPARATIONS MADE (United Pres* Assn.-Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 28, 1 p.m.) PARIS, May 27. Unprecedented measures to protect Their Majesties during their visit to Paris were decided upon by a Joint meeting of heads of the Surete and Scotland Yard. An extensive purge of undesirable foreigners Is be'ng carried out, and will be Intentifled Immediately. During the Royal processions police 'planes will fly over the routes, contacting headquarters by means of telephones. Large bodies of troops are being drafted to Paris In order to patrol ths routes. All residents in buildings on ths route along which Their Majesties will pass must obtain police passes, otherwise they will be unable to leave or enter during the visit. Nobody will be allowed to stand at it window overlooking the routes unless the owner of the property makes ■l declaration vouching for their Integrity. Police will be stationed at the doors of all rooms overlooking the routes and will inspect the passes of all entering. Shops and offices must be vacated an hour before Their Majesties passOnly the ground floors of cafes will be permitted to open. No raised vantage points may be erected.
PRESENTATION OF COLOURB ROYALTY WATCHES PARADE (Official Wireless) RUGBY. May 26 The King to-day presented new Colours to the Second Battalion of the Grenadier Guards at Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth. Queen Mary, the Princess Royal, the Earl of Harewood and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret watched the parade. Their Majesties also attended an afternoon performance of the Royal Tournament 8t Olympia.
