JURY’S AWARD TO WIDOW TRAMWAY EMPLOYEE'S DEATH (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday Damages amounting to £2022 were awarded by a jury in the Supreme Court to-day to Mrs Annie May Morris, whose husband. Edward Terence Morris, a tramway employee, was killed in a motor accident at Thorndon on January 10. The defendant was Guy Lowe, a Chinese fruiterer, of Petone. The case, which began on Wednesday, was heard by Mr Justice Quilliam and a jury of 12- The claim was for £3500 general and £22 special damages, and the jury’s award was made up of £2OOO general and £22 special damages. Time to 14 days was granted in which to move for a new trial, a nonsuit, or judgment for the defendant.
