TOKIO EXHIBITION
DOMINION SUPPORT SOUGHT VISIT OF COMMISSIONERS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday. With the objecl of interesting "the New Zealand authorities in the Internationa! Exposition of Japan in 1940, two commissioners, Messrs H. Yamawaki and 11. Kawaguchi, with a secretary, Mr I. Kaifu. arrived to-day by the Awatea. They say they have come officially to invite the New Zealand Government to participate. Japan is anxious that New Zealand should be represented with the end in view of mutual trade and fostering goodwill. On being reminded that the New Zealand Exhibition also took place in 1940, Mr Yamawaki gave an assurance that Japan would render any assistance and co-operation that might be asked of her. He would discuss the matter with the Consul-General of Japan in New Zealand, and also represent the position to his Government on his return. The party will pay courtesy calls on the Prime Minister and members of Ihc Cabinet this afternoon and tomorrow. They will visit Auckland before leaving for Sydney.
