PARTY AT CAMBRIDGE A number of people gathered at the ! home of Mrs E. E. Brown, of Puke- • kura, when a jolly party was arranged in honour of Miss Gwenda Nickle, who ; was celebrating- her coming-of-age. j The hostesses were Mrs I\. S. Browne, who was wearing black velvet, Mrs E. E. Brown, in olive green embossed satin, and Mrs J. Cornwall, who wore green satin. The guest-of-honour wore pastel taffeta. j Decorations in multi - coloured streamers and balloons with bowls of brightly-coloured Dowers were car- j ried out in the living-room, where a 1 pleasant evening was spent with table tennis and other games. ; When Miss Nickle entered the sup- ! per-room she was presented with a crown of laurel leaves. Later the candles were lit and the birthday cake cut before the toasts were honoured, j Among the guests were Mrs Nickle, : Misses Laura and Thelma Brown. • Margaret Cornwall, M. Brown, Nickle, S.
