INAUGURATION OF CHURCH (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU. Wednesday The official inauguration of the Te ! Awamutu Baptist Church was held last evening when the Rev. R. Goldsmith presided over a large gathering, representing the New Zealand Baptist Union, the South Auckland Baptist Association, the Auckland Baptist Auxiliary, and the Hamilton. Cambridge, Putaruru and Morrin-sville churches. Among those present were the Rev. M. W. P. Lascelles. secretary to the New Zealand Baptist Union: Mr E. Mci Gregor, president of the South AuckI land Baptist Association; the Revs. H. Goring and L. Crompton, representing the Auckland Baptist Auxiliary; the | Rev. G. C. Reay and Pastor Brown, j At the close of the public meeting, j Mr Lascelles received 16 members into j Ihe Church during the communion service. Mr W. R. Douglas was appointed secretary to the new church and Mr J. Yoisey, treasurer.
