DEMAND FOR BEEF LATE RATES MAINTAINED (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday Reporting on their weekly stool sale held at Westfield to-day, Messrs Dalgetv and Company, Limited, stats that 229 head of beef were yarded. This number included 65 steers and 174 cows and heifers, compared with 179 last week. The quality was fully up to standard and sold under a readj demand, late rates again being maintained for all ".lasses. Quotations: Extra choice ox sold te 39s per 1001 b.; choice and prime, 36s to 38s; just killable, 32s to 355, prime young cow and heifer beef, 32s to 365; just killable, 23s to 31s; M Extra heavy prime steers ranged from £l3 10s to £l3 15s; heavy prime steers, £l2 5s to £l3 ss; lighter prime steers, £ll 10s to £l2 2s 6d; lighl prime steers, £lO 10s to £ll ss; small and unfinished, £8 2s 6d to £10; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO to £ll ss; heavy prime, £8 15s to £9 10s; lighter prime. £7 10s to £8 10s; light cows, £6 5* to £7 ss; other killable cows, £4 t« £5 15s.
