TARIFF AMENDMENTS
NEW ZEALAND LEGISLATION BRITISH FIRMS PLEASED (By Telegraph.—special to Times) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Mr W. Nash stated to-day that hi had received news from a number ol British manufacturers expressing appreciation of the recent tariff amendments, and stating that they were e practical gesture to % British industry and would ensure for Great Britain a greater measure of trade in many classes of goods not manufactured In New Zealand. Three London firms, a Wolverhampton firm and a Birmingham firm hav# written indicating their pleasure that the New Zealand Government had given British industry pre'crence.
