WEDDING
CLEMENTS—HENDERBON A wedding of interest in the Waikato and Wanganui districts was celebrated at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, Hamilton, on the morning of May 18, when Minnie Helen Nellie), only daughter of Mr and Mrs T. 11. Henderson. “The Homestead.'’ Horsham Downs, was married to Frederick Malcolm, only son of Mrs A. J. Clements and the late Mr Samuel Clements of “Glen Lynne,” Rototuna. Bowls of flowers In pink tonings, which had been arranged by Mrs Lilburn and friends of the bride, made an attractive setting for the bridal party. The Rev. H. J. Lilburn was the officiating minister and Mr E. H. Apthorp presided at the organ. The bride looked charming as she entered the church with her father. Her gown was of rich ivory bridal satin cut on long, graceful lines and falling into a train richly embroidered in silk net and satin applique. The front was softly shirred and the heart-shaped neckiine was finished with appliqued satin petals. Her veil of tulle fell softly from a coronet.of orange blossom to form a second train, the corners of which were appliqued to match the frock. She carried a sheaf of cream chrysanthemums, carnations and maidenhair fern. The Attendants’ Frocks The bride was attended by two bridesmaids. Miss Anne Henderson (Wanganui . cousin of the bride, Miss Dorothy Clements, sister of the bridegroom. and four little maids, Anne, Joan, Nancy and Shirley Henderson, nieces of the bride. The bridesmaids were dressed in frocks of spring green satin taffeta cut on similar lines to that or the bride. Distinction was given the frocks by the applique on the shoulders and neckline, large taffeta bows and a row of small covered buttons extending to below the waistline, finished the back. They wore coronets of dusky pink flowers and carried bouquets in pink tonings. The four little flower girls wore Margaret Rose pink satin taffeta frocks, smaller models of those of the bridesmaids. Each carried a little gold basket of pink flowers and fern and they wore pink floral coronets In their hair.
Mr Eric Clement, cousin of the bridegroom and Mr Campbell Henderson, brother of the bride, were best man and groomsman respectively. The ushers were Messrs C- Henderson, C. Davidson, N. McKinnon and M. Thomas. A guard of honour was formed as the bride and bridegroom were leaving the church by members representing the Waikato Young Women’s and Young Men's Presbyterian Bible Classes, of which both the bride and bridegroom were popular members. The streamers used were blue and gold, the Bible Class colours. Miss Eileen Yeoman sang the solo “Thanks be to God” during the signing of the register.
After the ceremony about 140 guests were entertained to luncheon at the Centreway Rooms. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs T. H. Henderson, and Mrs Clements. Mrs Henderson wore a frock of bottle green delustred satin with lattice trimmings and finished with a posy of violets. She wore a hat to tone and carried a bouquet in deep mauve tonings.
