AUTUMN RACING

SECOND DAY AT TE RAPA WAIKATO CLUB’S MEETING VOGUE FOR TAILORED SUITS Following the brilliant sunshine of the first day on Saturday the colder weather on the second day yesterday necessitated the wearing of heavier tweeds and coats by the feminine patrons who attended the autumn meeting of the Waikato Racing Club held at To Rapa. Tailored suits, smart yet practical, were worn by the majority, though woollen ensembles in a varying range of colours were also favoured, furs and fur coats being worn earlier in the day for warmth. The smaller hats, with many variations of the folded turban, the toque and the boldinnie beret, were much in evidence.
