OPENING DANCE

ST. AIDAN'S SOCIAL CLUB ENJOYABLE EVENING Streamers and balloons in shades of green and gold formed artistic decorations in the Masonic Hall on Saturday, when an enjoyable evening was spent on the occasion of the opening dance for the season of the St. Aidan’s Social Club. Novelty dances held during the evening added to the gaiety and later a delicious supper was served. The guests were received by the hostesses, Mrs G. A. Crossman, wearing a frock of black lace, and Mrs W. 11. Blake way, who wore beech brown moss crepe. The members of the committee present were:—Miss Natalie Crossman, wearing black taffeta and ivory coatee; Miss Gwen Snell, spring green cobweb lace; Miss Moya Forster, amberrust moss crepe and panne velvet. Among those present were:—Misses Jean Brooks, gold lace over blue taffeta; Annette Gillies, del blue floral ninon; Joan Strong, Mexican pink crepella; Phyllis Kear, blue flowered chiffon; Joan Watson, leaf-green satin beaute; Kath Blakeway, spring green taffeta; Christine Farrer, cherry and fiavy printed silk crepe; Pat Farrer, Marina green cloque; Heather Stewart, navy embroidered crepe; Dulcie De Lacy, peach satin beaute; Lorna Forster, forget-me-not blue satin beaute; June Redmond, Chinese gold coinspot net over satin; Hilda Short, green tunic frock; Thelma Short, blush pink pheasant-eye taffeta; Kitty Templer, salmon coinspot taffeta; Leonie Swarbrick, royal bide and white floral silk; Nancy Dorset, electric blue diagonal striped satin; Shirley Webber, ivory satin and lace; June Banks (Plarerej, leaf-green taffeta.
