MATANGI NOTES
SOCIAL AFTERNOON The Matangi St- David’s Guild held Its monthly social afternoon in the hall recently. There was a large attendance, visitors being present from Tamahere and Eureka. Flag five hundred was enjoyed, the winning trio being Mesdames Banks, Bettley and Commins. A competition was won by Miss Joy Taylor. The hostesses, Mesdames A. Jamieson and Hinton, senr., served afternoon tea. MISSIONARY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Waikato East branch of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union, was held in the Matangi Presbyterian Hall recently. Mrs Thompson presided. As there were no missionary letters this month, Mrs C. L. French read an article on the work done at the Children's Temple Mission in India. Mrs* Davidson gave an interesting report on the quarterly P.A. meeting held in Hamilton recently, which was listened to with interest. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames C. L. French and r Marychureh.
