CAMBRIDGE TROTTING

CLAUDELANDS TRAINING FRONTIER BOY QOEB WELL CHILE BEAN SHOWS DASH The going on the course proper, well out from the rails, was available for fast work at Claudelands this morning when a number of horses claiming engagements at the Cambridge Trotting Club’s meeting here on Saturday were given their semifinal trials. The best effort of the morning was that of Chile Bean over two miles. Frontier Boy (Garnett), Moira Bingen (E. R. Smith), Flash Bye (Wheeler), Gold Pointer (McNickle) and Rara Avis (C. Wood) were associated over a mile and a-half, finishing in that order at the completion of the effort. Frontier Boy and Moira Bingen did their work well and Moira Bingen, who looks well, is not without prospects this week. Bonny Pointer finished slightly in front of Elsie Hamlyn (Mitchell jnr.), with Harlow (Mitchell snr.) and a Great Parrish mare (E. R. Smith) practically on terms over the concluding stages of a mile and a-half in 3.46 1-5, the final half-mile being cut out in 1.12 1-5. Our Peggy Hite Out Our Peggy (F. Smith) finished attractively in the straight to shade Nawton Parrish (McNickle) and Native Princess at the end of a mile and ahalf in 3.561, the final section being cut out in 1.9. Our Peggy looks in nice order to fulfill engagements at the approaching Epsom fixture. There was little between Sir Frank (E. R. Smith), Baron Grand (Garnett) and Roman Chief (trainer), with Moko Girl (C. Wood) and Reception (Wheeler) in close attendance at the conclusion of a mile and a-half which occupied 3.42, their first half-mile being run in 1.9. Sir Frank was going well within himself throughout and he should strip in splendid fettle for engagements ahead. The best effort of the morning was that of Chile Bean (Mitchell snr.), who was practically on terms with Adversity (Mitchell jnr.), with Tryment (F. Smith) a couple of lengths away, at the end of two miles. Adversity picked up the pair at the mile and ahalf peg going off half-a-dozen lengths in front of them and continuing there till reaching the home turn ‘where Chile Bean commenced to move up on terms with him. In the straight Chile Rean and Adversity staged a fine finish passing the post practically in line. The two miles was run in 4.42 and the final half-mile in 1.7. Chile Bean impressed by the manner In which he was revelling in his work over the deciding stages of the trial.
