CHILDREN’S PARTY
EVENING AT KAINUI An enjoyable evening was spent in the Kainui Hall recently when scholars, old pupils and parents met to tender the children a treat In place of the usual picnic. The opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Mr S. G. Silvester, who has been superintendent of the Sunday school for eight years, and to bid farewell to three of the scholars who are leaving the district. Mr GH. Walter and Mr W. B. Cumming spoke in eulogistic terms of the manner in which Mr Silvester had carried out his duties, the former on behalf of the parents presenting him with a leather attache case. The three boys who are leaving—Peter Burrett and lan and Don Sowman —each received a book. Items were given by the Sunday school pupils, after which games were played until supperWime.
