FANCY DRESS BALL
KINOHAKU BABKETBALL CLUB A largely-attended masked fancydress ball, organised by the Kinohaku Basketball Club, took place in the Kinohaku Ilall recently, when there were many visitors from Otorohanga and nearby settlements. The Click Clack Band provided the dance music, and novelty dances were won by Mr T. Brough and Miss J. Munro, and Mr and Mrs N- Hunter. Prizes were awarded to: Bestdressed lady, Mrs A. Derecourt (Eastern Princess) ; best-dressed man, Mr ,T. Stone (Dewar's Whisky); most original, Mr C. O’Rourke (Chef). Outstanding costumes were worn by Misses R. Chalmers and J. Rhodes as Music, Mirth and Melody; Miss G. Green, Good-night; Miss J. Munro, Santa Claus: Miss B. Van Houten, Film Fan: Miss ‘O. Neeley, Grandma; Mr T. Brough. Mexican; Messrs R. and G. Derecourt, Mickey and Minnie Mouse; Messrs M. Neeley and J. Moon, Two Little Girls in Blue; Mr 0. Gordon and Miss M. Gordon, Devils.
