SUCCESSFUL DANCES
HORA HORA TENNIB CLUB The Maungatautarl Hall was gaily decorated with coloured balloons and streamers, when the Hora Hora Tennis Club held a dance recently. Bright music was played by Clayton’s orchestra. The ladles of the committee were: Mesdames C. La Trobe, Dannefaerd, Strawbrldge, and Misses W. Hill find Mary Peake. Among those present were:—Mesdames R. Townend, McLennan, N. Mason, P. Hyde, C. E. Peake, A. McVlcar, T. Hill, Ray, Leckie, W. James, P. Hyde; Misses Thelma Browne, Marie Savory, Pat Nickle, Gwenda Nlckle, Laura Browne, Margaret Douglas, Audrey Savory, Beryl James, Robin Douglas, D. James, Nancy Wallace, M. James, Ruth Nickle.
HUNTLY CANOE CLUB FOURTH ANNUAL FUNCTION An enjoyable dance was held In the Town Hall. Hunily, recently, when the Huntly Canvas Canoe Club held Its fourth annual function. The hall was thronged with dancers. An artistic scheme of decoration was achieved with crossed festoons of multi-col-oured fringed streamers, coloured balloons and Japanese lanterns arranged at intervals around the hall, while a canvas canoe was placed along the front of the stage. Around the walls and on each side of the stage nikau fronds were arranged. Excellent music was provided by N. Crowder and his Silvertone Dance Band, from Auckland. The masters of ceremonies were Messrs W. Mayes and S. Bennett* A feature of the evening was the appearance of Miss June Barson, the talented singer, of Auckland, who delighted the audience with her rendering of three songs. Mr Lloyd G. Peach, of Huntly, was the accompanist. Novelties distributed added to the merriment of the evening. Among those present were:—Mesdames Webster (Hamilton), A. Brooks, D. J. Rogers (Taupirl), S.
