CHARMED WITH COUNTRY
SYDNEY VISITORS’ VIEWS VARIETY OF SCENERY “We have found New Zealand altogether charming and are delighted with the variety of the scenery," commented two visitors from Sydney, Mrs D. J. Ryan and Miss E. Wardrop, who were week-end visitors to Hamilton. The visitors are Just concluding a comprehensive tour of New Zealand and will shortly leave for America, where they will visit the principal tourist attractions. Miss Wardrop said that she had been Intrigued by the soenery In both the North and South Islands, and expressed the opinion that the difference In the scenery was truly amazing. The whole countryside seemed to be 60 green and olean, the farmlands being In striking comparison with the farms In New South Wales, where a drought had Just been experienced. The cattle, too, seemed so sleek and contented in comparison with Australian stock. Hotel accommodation in both islands had been very satisfactory, and a thing that had impressed her was the cleanliness of New Zealand people. | Miss Wardrop's remarks were endorsed by Mrs Ryan, who spoke In eulogistic terms of the southern glaciers, the beauty of which, she considered, was unexcelled.
