AUTUMN TROTTING
WAIKATO CLUB’S MEETING FASHIONS AT CLAUDELANDS NAVY FAVOURED COLOUR Fine but cloudy weather with an autumn chill in the atmosphere later in the afternoon was met with warm woollen suits, tailored tweeds, coats and furs by the majority of the feminine patrons who attended the annual autumn meeting of the Waikato Trotting Club, held at the Claudelands showgrounds on Saturdays. The rather sombre effect of darker colours was countered by brighter accessories, gay scarves and hatbands adding a note of relief. Navy was again the most popular colour although tan and green ensembles in a wide range of shades were greatly worn.
