CEREMONY AT CAMBRIDGE WYLDE ? : BRO\VNE—LEWIS FUTURE HOME IN ENGLAND A wedding of interest was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, Cambridge, on Saturday afternoon, when Rona Lukin Lewis, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Samuel Lewis, of "Gowanbank,” Cambridge, was married to Acton Whitmore Wylde-Browne, eldest son of Mr and Mrs C. H. A. Wylde'Browne of Oamaru. The Rev. Martin Sullivan was the officiating minister and Mr A. G. Boyce played the wedding music. RYBURN—RYE

The wedding took place at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, at noon on Saturday, when Klva Mary, eldest daughter of Mrs A. A. Rye, of Ngahinapouri, and the late Mr Rye, was married to Hugh Marshall. third son of Mr and Mrs T. -T. Ryburn, “Oaklands," Ngahinapouri. The ceremony was performed by the Rev* Mclntyre, of Paterangi, and Mr E. H. Apthorp played the wedding music. The church had been beautifully arranged with chrysanthemums In autumn tints.

The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr C. Rye, looked charming. She wore a gown of deep pearltinted satin cut on Empire lines. The high-waisted bodice, softly gathered and finished with a roll collar ending in deep points at the back, was allied to a skirt simply cut to fall to a long, circular train from a point at the back. Tiny satin-covered buttons trimmed the back of the frock, and the tight-fitting leg-o’-mutton •sleeves, the neckline being finished with a posy of orange blossom. Her beautiful veil of hand-worked Limerick lace over 50 years old, belonging to the bridegroom’s family, fell from a halo of orange blossom to form a ! second long train finished with two sprays of orange blossom. She carried ‘ a sheaf of orchids, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern with trailers.

In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Mavis Rye and Miss Joy Rye. sisters of the bride. The former wore a graceful frock of gold shot satin, the bodice, fashioned with a cowled neckline, being finished at the back with self-covered buttons to the waist, where the straight skirt fell to a full flare. The short sleeves were softly draped and a plaited girdle of brown, orange and gold ninon fell into long draperies at the side front of the skirt. On her hair she wore a Juliet cap of small velvet flowers in autumn tonings from which fell a circular veil of goldspotted tulle. The second ’maid’s frock of gold taffeta was fashioned with a full, circular skirt and a bodice cut with an unusual frilled neckline and sleeves trimmed with tiny rosebuds. A plaited girdle of autumntinted ninon encircled the waistline, and her halo of velvet flowers in the same shade was finished with a gold tulle bow at the back of the head. Both attendants carried bouquets of dahlias and chrysanthemums in autumn tonings. The bridegroom was attended by his brothers, Mr Leslie Ryburn, as best man, and Mr Keith Ryburn as groomsman- The ushers at the church were Mr N. Corcoran and Mr J. Stephens. The Wattle Rooms, where a reception was held following the ceremony, had been artistically decorated with flowers in autumn shades. The guests were received by Mrs Rye, who was wearing a gown of nigger brown embossed satin trimmed with gold lame, a fur stole, and a model hat of brown peachbloom finished with ospreys. She carried a posy of chrysanthemums and marigolds in autumn shades. The mother of the bridegroom was wearing a tailored suit of bottle green with furs and a bottle green model hat to tone. Her posy was composed of flowers in shades of gold. Mrs F C. Williams, sister of the bridegroom, was wearing a tunic frock of cloque and lace in clover shade with a brown fur coat and a velvet halo hat to match her frock. Mrs N. Corcoran, of Whakatane, the bridegroom’s sister, wore an emerald green tfrock trimmed with braid, a fur coat and an emerald green hat. The guests were entertained after the reception at the home of Mrs Williams, in Hamilton East, where the wedding presents were viewed. The lounge where afternoon tea was served had been charmingly arranged with bowls of flowers in autumn tints. The bride travelled in a smart tailored suit of brown with a beige faggottedrblouse, a brown hat finished with an eye-veil and feather trimming, and brown accessories. HODGSON—STEPHENS The wedding Took place at St. Peter’s ‘Cathedral, Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon, when Berice Gertrude, elder daughter of Mr and Airs A. J. Stephens, of Hamilton, was married to Lewis, second son of Air and Airs P. L. Hodgson, of Claudelands. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Paul Sergei and Air E. 11. Apthorp presided at the organ. Chrysanthemums in pale pink shades had been beautifully arranged in the church. The bride, who entered tlie Cathedral with her father, wore a charming frock of powder blue georgette fashioned with a sum-ay pleated skirt and a pin-tucked bodice. The long sleeves were also pin-tucked to the elbow, a spray of mauve-tinted sweetpeas being worn at the v-shaped neckline. A swathe of blue velvet encircled waistline, tlie ends falling the length of the skirt at the back. On her hair she wore a Juliet cap of diamante and she carried a bouquet of lavender chrysanthemums and white and blue love-in-the-mist with maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister. Mrs j. R. our. Her graceful frock of lavender georgette was fashioned with a full skirt, the low v neckline being finished with a spray of violet flowers. A swathe of lavender and violet plaited velvet was worn at the waistline, the corsage in front being finished

with rose-shaded flowers. She wore a Juliet cap of silver on which were embroidered lavender-shaded flowers and she carried a bouquet of lavender chrysanthemums and purple petunias with maidenhair fern.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr "Walter Sweeney as best man and Air Frank Hodgson was the usher at the church.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs FitzGerald, Lake Domain Drive, where lovely bowls of asters in shades of lavender and rose had been arranged in the rooms. The guests were received by Airs Stephens, who was wearing a suit in foxglove shade with a clover satin blouse and a foxglove hat to tone. She carried a posy composed of petunias and chrysanthemums in clover shades with red berries. The bridegroom's mother was wearing a bottle groen suit with an Ivory blouse and a bottle green hat with trimmings of black patent leather. Her posy comprised gerberas and chrysanthemums in autumn tonings.

Mr and Airs Lewis Hodgson left later by car for the wedding trip, the bride travelling in a smart suit of London tan worn with an emerald green waistcoat, a tan felt hat and accessories to match.

They will make their home In Te Aroha.

BEGBIE—TYRRELL Chrysanthemums in shades of pink and white had been beautifully arranged In St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Putaruru, for the marriage last Wednesday evening of Kathleen Mavis, daughter of Air and Airs V. S. Tyrrell, of 'Okoroire, and Alan Andrew, only son of Air and Airs A. Begbie, of Putaruru. White -satin horse-shoes marked the pews for the guests. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. P. Cleary, and the wedding music was played by Airs J. Barnes-

The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of Ivory Royal satin designed on classical lines and falling to a long train. A tiny posy of orange blossom ornamented the V-shaped neckline and the sleeves, which were full at the shoulder, fitted closely from the elbow to the wrist. The corsage was finished in front with tiny satin buttons. Her beautifully-embroid-ered Limerick lace veil was held In place by a coronet of orange blossoms and fell to form a second train. She carried a posy of white roses, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Edna Tyrrell, sister of the bride. Little Margaret Smith, niece of the bridegroom, was flower-girl, and Stewart Smith, nephew of the bridegroom, was page-boy. Pastel green pin-tucked georgette formed the attractive frock of the bridesmaid. The bodice was fashioned with a square neckline and short puff sleeves. The skirt was embroidered with tiny pink rosebuds. On her hair she wore a short green net veil with a top-knot of pink roses, and she carried a posy of chrysanthemums to tone.

Shell pink georgette over satin fashioned the flower-girl’s frock in Victorian style. 'She wore a headdress similar to that of the bridesmaid, and she also carried a small posy O-fLflowers. The page-boy word a suit of white satin.

The bridegroom was attended by Air J. Howland, of Putaruru, as best man- The ushers at the church were Air Bryce Howland and Mr C. Tyrrell, brother of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Women's Division Rooms, Putaruru, where the guests were received by Mr and Airs Tyrrell, assisted by Mr and Airs Begbie. Mrs Tyrrell was wearing a graceful frock of lido blue lacquered satin, with a shoulder .spray of autumn-tinted dowel’s. Her hat of black peachbloom felt was finished with a white ornament. Airs Begbie was wearing a -smart frock of black cloque with black lace redingote. She wore a rust-coloured velour hat and accessories to tone.

The room where the reception was held was decorated with lovely bowls of pink Scotch heather and chrysanthemums in a paler shade. After the reception a dance was held for the guests.

Air and Mrs Alan Begbie later left by car for the honeymoon, the bride wearing a smart beige tailored costume with brown accessories and a fur necklet.
