CONTEST IN AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS CITIZENS SECURE 13 SEATS (Special to Tlme3.) AUCKLAND, Thursday The final count for the Auckland City Council seats shows that the Citizens and Ratepayers’ Associations' candidates secured 13 seats, the remaining eight going to Labour candidates. SIR ERNEST DAVIS SUCCESSFUL AUCKLAND MAYORALTY (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Thursday. In the election for the Auckland Mayoralty, Sir Earnest Davis, the candidate endorsed by the Citizens and Ratepayers’ Association, was reelected yesterday, the figures being:— Sir Ernest Davis (C.) 26,091 J. Sayegh (L.) .. 15,465 J. W. Payne .. .. 5'9 Majority for Davis 10,626 In 1935 Sir Earnest's majority over Mr Sayegh on the provisional count was 400. Of 66,200 names on the roll 42,583 people, or 64.3 per cent voted. BUBURBAN MAYORS Newmarket.—S. Donaldson (returned unopposed). One Tree Hill.—l. J. Goldstine (returned unopposed). Onehunga.—A.
