A poll was taken on the question of the half-holiday, which is now observed on Wednesday. The voting was as follows:—Saturday, 599; Wednesday, 282. Rotorua. —Mayoralty: T. Jackson (re-elected), 1150; H. Dansey, 796. Representative on Waikato Hospital Board: J. Banks, 1127. Unsuccessful, C. P. Allen, 809. A poll taken on the half day question resulted in favour of a change from Wednesday to Saturday. The voting was :—Saturday, 1026; Wednesday, 901. A loan proposal to raise £B6OO for the stormwater drainage of Fenton Street area was carried by 528 votes, with 352 against.
