BOBBY CALF POOL
MEETING AT TAUHEI (Special to Times) TAUHEI, Thursday A meeting of members of last year's Tauhei Bobby Calf Pool was held In the Tauhei Hall recently, Mr H. D. Williams presiding. The chairman congratulated members on the success of the pool, which was run under the organisation of the Pig Marketing Association, members receiving an average of 10s 4d per calf. Mr M. Hastings, organiser for the Pig Marketing Association, gave details of the cost of collection and the sales of meat and skins. After discussion by members It was decided again to operate as a pool, and the following officers were elected:-—Chairman, Mr H. D. Williams; secretary and treasurer, Mr M. E. Barrowclough; committee, Messrs F- Seifert, A. E. Gee, W. Hanlon, (R. Vickers, S. B. Harris, S. Green and 11. J. Valentine. MEETING AT 6PRINGDALE vSpecial to Times.) MORRINSVILLE, Friday Arrangements for the collection and marketing of bobby calves during the coming season were discussed at a meeting of about 40 members of the Springdale-Elstow Bobby Calf Pool held in the Springdale Hall. Mr E. Palliser presided. It was stated that the pool handled nearly 8000 calves last season, and lt expected to handle from 12,000 to 15,000 this year. An executive for the season was set up as follows: —Messrs E. Palliser, J. K. Watson, H. S. Stembrldge, E. A. Needham, A. H- Coombe, L. S. Ferguson, G. L. Kelk, J. R. Horn. The secretary Is Mr R. B. West water, of Morrinsville. It was suggested that the collection of calves be commenced about June 20 and continue until November 30.
