RAILWAY OBSTRUCTION

IRON JAMMED IN POINTS SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES (Special to Times) WHA'KATANE, Friday. The discovery of a piece of iron about a foot long by four and a-half inches wide jammed in the points at a siding from the main railway line near Te Puke is being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known whether the iron, which seems to be a broken coupling, found its way to the line by accident or was placed there maliciously. The discovery was made yesterday during an inspection of the track. It is considered suspicious that the obstruction should have been found at a spot where it could have done most damage and that it should have been wedged so securely in the points.
