BURNED TO DEATH
EXPLOSION OF PETROL INFANT TRAPPED IN HUT (By Telegraph.—rres3 Association) DUNEDIN, Friday. An infant, John Thomas Parsons, son of Mr Alfred J. Parsons, a Public Works employee, was burned to death at Cromwell this evening when the camp in which he lived with his parents was destroyed by fire caused by i the explosion of a tin of petrol. Two ether children whu were in the structure, a canvas and wood building, were rescued through a window. When Mrs Parsons endeavoured to rescue the infant her clothes and hair caught fire and she, too, had to be dragged out through the window. Stock Diseases. —Fewer outbreaks nf facial eczema have been reported throughout the Waikato during the lisi few days and as far as dairy herds at least are concerned the disease appears to have received a check. Many of the affected cattle are reported to be responding to curative measures.
