WHY MOTHERS’ DAY?
Surely th*re never was a finer inspiration. and one which commends itself more to our best and deepest feelings. than the setting apart of one day In the year on which we. as a nation, as families, and as individuals, snow our respect and I'we to “ Mothers." “ Of all companions, none so true. Mother, none so kind as you.” Or, perhaps, the following more aptly reveals our feelings:— •• The loving friend who shared my woe. Who taught me all the cood 1 know." Love, sympathy, sacrifice and kindness are the common attributes of motherhood, and It Is thus no wonder that reverence for mother Is supreme the hearts of men. Reverence for mother-love has raised men and women from the depths, has spurred others to renewed effort, and has so often helped good to triumph over evil. Thoughts of mother bring out the best of us. Let us. then, be united In determination that to-morrow. Mother's Day. shall be remembered and acknowledcpd by all. Its inspiration is too valuable and sacred to allow anything to mar Its celebration.
