The president, Mr A. T. Bryi ant. said there was a very decided shortage or farm workers right throughout the I district, and the Placement office at Ham--1 ilton seemed quite Incapable of meeting ‘ ' the demand. The labour shortage was not merely seasonal, as some . 1 people suggested; It had continued right , throughout the winter, and would be , 1 much more acute as the dairying season advanced. .Members agreed that the position was had. and that the Placement office* were doing the best possible, but could not induce or Torre men to take farm work.
