August 24 Charles Zimmy (43), a legless swimmer, started a 143-miles 4 nonstop swim on the Hudson River from Albany to New York. It is expected the swim will take six days. Zimmy plans to eat, sleep and smoks in the water. A later message states that Zimmy at 9 a.m. had travelled 12 miles. He shouted to watchers: “Tell the folka that I am feeling great. Everything Is going swell.” He hopes to arrive on August 28.
