STOWAWAY CAUGHT.
TERM OF IMPRISONMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. A sentence of 21 days’ Imprisonment was imposed on John Leslie Florance (26), a bootmaker, at the Police Court for having -stowed away on the Monterey when she left Auckland for Sydney on August 6. Sub-Inspector Fox said that Florance was found next day in a first-class lounge. When questioned he gave a wrong name and declined to give further information. He was taken into custody by the chief officer. “ Florance is a young man with a bad criminal record,” added the subinspector. “ He is at present on license, and no doubt this will now be cancelled." Florance had nothing to say.
