PROPOSED MEMORIAL VETOED. PRESIDENT TAKES ACTION. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. WASHINGTON, August 23. President Roosevelt has vetoed a Bill to provide 500,000 dollars for the construction of a memorial to the late Mr Will Rogers, humorist and 111 m actor, in Oklahoma. He claimed that Mr Rogers would have preferred something to gladden the hearts of those he had left behind, for example! a fuud for crippled children.
