STILL ON STRIKE.
CARPENTERS AT ORAKEI. A DEADLOCK REPORTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The carpenters’ strike at the State houses at Orakei continues. The men arrived on the job this morning and held a further stop-work meeting. Subsequently a conference was held between the job delegates, the union otllcJals and representatives of the master builders but after an hour and a-half’s discussion a deadlock was reached. Mr W. J. Lyon. M.P., who arranged the conference and presided, will leave
for Wellington to-night to ascertain what action the Government is taking.
