CRITICISM IN GERMANY. ALLEGED UNFAIR METHODS. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. | (Received August 18, 1 p.m.) BERLIN, August 17. Complaints that Britain defeated Germany by unfair methods in the recent athletic contest at the White City were made in the newspaper National Zietung. “ Britain's victory,” it says, “ was secured because it excluded light athletic events sucli as javelin and hammer throwing and the hop, step and jump, in which the Germans excel.”
