CYCLE AND CAR COLLIDE. AUCKLAND, Thursday. Mr Frederick Hooker (21), of tount Eden, was seriously injured ,hen his motor-cycle collided with a ■iotor-car last night. Miss Elna \gues Person (19), of Grey Lynn, who was riding pillion, suffered he'ad injuries and concussion, but her condition Is not serious. TRAIN BTRIKEB A VAN. NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. Mr C. S. Barclay, a butcher of Manutahl, was fatally Injured when a delivery van he was driving was struck by the north-bound express at a level crossing. The impact was so severe that the van and driver were carried a chain over the cattlestop.
