WEDDING.
BROWN —KING. The marriage was solemnised recently at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, lluntly, between Mabel Letitia Dorothy, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs | J. A- King, of lluntly, and Jack Lowry, second son of Mr antf Mrs H. Brown, of Wingatui, Dunedin. The Rev. E. R. Wright performed the ceremony, and Miss B. C. Housley presided at the organ. The altar was beautifully arranged with yellow jonquils. The bride, who entered the church with her fattier, looked charming in a frock of ivory lace, modelled on slim-fitting lines, witli a long train and high neckline with small up-standing collar peaked at tlie front, the tightfitting sleeves finishing in points over tlie hand. Tlie bodice, which was shirred in front, was finished with a corsage of orange blossom. She wore a tulle veil, which fell from a pretty coronet of pleated ivory tulle and orange blossom and formed a secMadonna lilies, cream cyclajnen, roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Audrey Newborn, of Auckland (cousin of the bride), who wore a graceful frock of gold souple satin with slightly flared basque. Tlie bodice, which had long lull sleeves, was finished with a Peter
Pan collar and a gold diamante brooch. She wore a Juliet cap of small velvet flowers in shades of purple and mauve and carried a sheaf of gold arum lilies and asparagus fern. The flower-girl was Miss Tessie King (sister of the bride), who wore a rrock of ivory pinspotted net. with long full skirt finished with bands of satin, the bodice having short puffed sleeves banded with satin. She wore a small cap of ivory net and satin, finished with cream velvet flowers, and carried a sheaf of gold arum lilies and asparagus fernMr Patrick Deere, of Wellington, was best man, and Mr M. A. Mc'Kibbin, of Taumarunul, was groomsman. Ushers at the church were Messrs Ray Pearson and Thomas Clark. After the ceremony a reception was held at tlie Parish Rail, where tlie guests were received by tlie bride’s mother, Mrs King, who wore a smart tailored costume of brown check tweed, and a brown peachbloom felt bat. She carried a posy of autumntinted flowers. Mrs M. Newborn, of Auckland (aunt of the bride) wore a navy tailored costume, willi cherry felt hat. When Mr and Mrs J. L. Brown left for a tour of the South, the bride travelled wearing a fawn military jumper suit with a nigger brown fur- ■ trimmed coat, and brown peachbloom ; felt bat. They will make their home in Frank ton.
