Patricia, Countess of Jersey, before her marriage to the Earl In 1932, was Miss Patricia Kenneth Richards, of Sydney and Coolamundra (New South Wales). Her divorce suit on January 11 in London caused a stir. The Countess ! was granted a decree on the ground of misconduct by her husband. She told the Court that during 1935, when she had been seriously ill, the Earl of Jersey had taken a flat in London, leaving her to live alone in the country. He subsequently told her, she said, that he "had no affection left" for her. First previous intimation of the rift had been the advertisement inserted by her husband in the London Press that he would not be responsible for her debts. Earl Marries Again. The decree was made absolute on July 19, and the Earl married Miss Virginia Cherrill, the actress, on July 30. Now that the Earl has remarried, his ex-wife, if she intends to retain the title, will prefix it to her Christian name and become “Patricia, Countess of Jersey." She may please herself whether, upon her own remarriage, she becomes “Mrs R. F. Wilson" or remains “Patricia, Countess of Jersey.”
