CONDITIONS IN ALBERTA. attorney-general dismissed. BUSINESS STAGNATION PREDICTED United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright EDMONTON, August 7. The Premier of Alberta, Mr. William Aberhart, has dismissed Mr. J. W. Hugill, Attorney-General, and has taken over tlie portfolio himself. This is the fourth Minister dismissed in two years. Calgary Brokers, Limited, the largest firm of the kind in Alberta, announces that it is closing down. It predicts business stagnation as the result of Mr. Aberhart s legislation. The firm’s 50 employees have been dismissed. The Legislature has adopted the Bankers’ Control Bill, which provides for the licensing of bankers by August 27, when Parliament will be prorogued. The bankers are expected to delay action pending the probability of the Ottawa Government disallowing the Act. A message from Ottawa states that the Prime Minister, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King said: “When the legislation readies the capital we will consider action.”
