NGONGOTAHA RATES.
The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Limited, report having held their Ngongotaha stock sale yesterday when the advertised entry, including the herd of cows and horses, attracted one of the largest attendances at these yards for many years. The horses, which were of good class, commanded spirited competition with high values ruling, hut poorer sorts were not so keenly sought. The yarding of store cattle comprised mostly steers, for which bidding was brisk. Fat cows were wanted while boners showed no change on late rates. A full yarding of dairy cattle included the advertised herd on account of Mr J. E. Martin, of Ngongotaha, with competition keen throughout and prioes were fully equal to firm Waikato values. A small entry of pigs sold readily under the hammer. Light fat cows made £5 5s to £6 8s; heavy boners, £3 5s to £3 12s; lighter, 25s to £2 10s; two-year Polled Angus steers, £8; two-year Shorthorn steers, £7 Os to £7 11s; two-year mixed coloured steers, £6 18s to £7 Is; empty twoyear Holstein heifers, £4 2s; empty two-year Shorthorn heifers, £3 10s to £3 15s; empty two-year Jersey heifers, £3 5s to £3 17s; yearling heifers, £2 15s to £3 Bs. Dairy cattle: Shorthorn cows, August calvers, £7 5s to £8 10s; more backward, £5 15s to £6 15s; Friesian cows, early calvers. £0 to £7; later, £4 10s to £5 15s.
